ESA contracted OIP to develop High-Resolution Thermal Infrared Spectrometer

OIP is proud to be selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop a High-Resolution Thermal Infrared Dispersive Spectrometer. This novel technology will enable hyperspectral measurements from space with high spatial resolution, overcoming limitations with existing spectrometers.

The technology finds applications in multiple domains, such as air quality monitoring, geology and target identification, even in low-illumination conditions. It will be used in both imaging and sounding applications.

The contract will be executed over a period of two years. The development will be supported by Airbus Defence & Space, who will act as a subcontractor to OIP.
