CPF - Critical Point Facility

CPF was the first space project realised at OIP in the late 80s. The Critical Point Facility was a sophisticated electro-optical system for microgravity experiments in space.

Instrument Description

OIP acted as a subcontractor for Fokker and MBB-Erno. The CPF was a multi-user facility to investigate near critical phenomena in transparent fluids under well defined conditions, which had successful flights with Spacelab IML-1 and IML-2 missions.
